Key Players to Watch

Viggo Björck (C – Winnipeg Jets)

Björck is Sweden’s top-line center and biggest star. Winnipeg drafted him 8th overall in 2026. If he is released from the NHL, he can dominate the tournament.

Love Härenstam (G – St. Louis Blues)

Härenstam is the returning goaltender of the 2026 gold squad. He went 6-0 with a .911 save percentage in Minnesota. St. Louis picked him in the sixth round in 2025. His calm presence settles the whole team.

Sascha Boumedienne (D – Winnipeg Jets)

Boumedienne is Sweden’s number-one defenseman. He is also returning to the 2026 squad and currently plays for Ohio State (NCAA). Winnipeg selected him 28th overall in 2025. His two-way game drives play from the blue line.

Alexander Command (C – New Jersey Devils)

Command is Sweden’s projected second-line center with size and skill. New Jersey drafted him 12th overall in 2026.

Theo Stockselius (C/LW – Calgary Flames)

Calgary picked him 54th overall in 2025. Stockselius becomes Sweden’s first-line center if Björck stays in the NHL.

Eddie Genborg (LW/RW – Detroit Red Wings)

Genborg is Sweden’s projected top-line winger, now in North America with Grand Rapids. Detroit picked him 44th overall in 2025 and signed him to an entry-level deal.
